What is Yielding to Yes?

Yielding to Yes is a 12-part personal narrative project that documents my journey of reconciling my conservative fundamentalist Christian faith with my queer sexuality.

It recounts the process I underwent as I carefully deconstructed my inherited worldview, confronted my authentic self and religious harm, and reconstructed my faith to achieve a more integrated life.

Simply put: I set out to write the narrative I had wished years ago that someone else had written for me to read. I specifically set out to offer theologically rigorous explanations of the queer experience in view of Christian faith and Christian spirituality and to offer a hopeful personal example that it does get better, reconciliation can be found, and healing from religious harm is possible.
